An intermediate farming game for tweens

Farm up is a farming game set in the 1930s that includes quests and allows you to increase your in-game earnings with slightly more advanced production such as a factory for canned goods or a textile mill for creating cloth. The game starts off in a very simple way that helps you learn how to play. It has flashing lights and happy noises that such mobile games often have to help keep people addicted.

Great for lovers of farming games

Farm up is fun to play if you enjoy harvesting vegetables and taking care of livestock, but one of its biggest flaws is how long it makes you wait for things such as energy. Things such as energy are auto-generated and collected, but it takes a long time and requires a lot of patience. The graphics are very cartoonish, but the game is aimed at tweens rather than very young children. The unique upgrades and characters add character to the game, and there is a fair amount of mirco-managing to be done to help keep the game interesting.

Fun and engaging if you like longer games

Farm up is fun for people who like the idea of farming and selling, but it requires a massive amount of patience because each process takes a very long time to complete. If you leave the game too long, then your plants mature and die because your workers seem to take the time off and do nothing, which means you have to keep nipping in to play the game. Other than a few minor flaws in the game, it is well worth trying if you like the idea of farming games.

PROS

  • A nice game for tweens rather than young children
  • Slightly more mirco-managing options than other farming games

CONS

  • It takes a very long time to produce anything
  • You have to keep nipping in to play the game or you lose crops
